Tea Time at my Desk!
Submitted by Kirsten Miller
About 10 years ago I had to give up coffee for health reasons. At the time I was also a tea drinker, but when forced to give up coffee entirely, I decided to double down on tea and do it right. I'm almost exclusively a black tea drinker, and with no flavorings. Having read a lot about tea I like to explore single origin teas rather than blends, because I find the differences between, say, Chinese Yunnan, Sri Lankan Ceylon, and Indian Darjeeling fascinating. At home I use a fine mesh filter basket to steep individual cups of loose leaf tea. At work I put my loose leaf tea in little paper filter bags as they make for easier cleanup. I have electric kettles both at home and at work -- they're FAST! I also keep a small kit in my purse for making up loose leaf tea bags on the go, because I'm too much of a snob to drink most commercial bagged teas. Tip: Use a mug that has a dark colored interior = no visible tea stains!
