Finally we found a use for this old Pepsi crate we got long time ago. We have so many cables and this provides an orderly place to store them. The wall adapter also works well as a way to plug in USB cords directly to the wall.

Small Charging Station.JPG

Due to the limited outlet access at this corner of the kitchen, I placed the charging station on the shelf. Over the time, things are populated in the area because other related functions were added in. By now, I have iphone speakers and all the chargers stored in the same place. This corner of the kitchen has more foot traffic also because of this set up.

We don't have much storage space in our living room, so the basket becomes the home of our chargers.

This charging station also has a bottom drawer that provides additional storage for battery chargers and additional cords. That the charging station looks more like a piece of furniture rather than a tech-y solution means that we can use it in any room.

San Francsico Sofa Laptop Storage

Apart from my home workspace, I spend a good deal of time on my laptop while sitting on my sofa. So rather than leave the laptop on the sofa or on the floor nearby, I've used a wooden magazine holder to store and charge my laptop when not in use.

In my apartment, my power outlets are not very well placed. This book shelf is fixed, so I made the best of it by using this power cords, which have a 90 degree angle. This reduces the potential mess.

Power strips are used to accommodate the array of power needs around my desk. There’s only one outlet. I label the strips to be sure I’m disconnecting the right peripheral at the right time.

All the cables that feed into my laptop are here for easy access. I use my laptop in my living room and office, so frequently disconnect and reconnect it to peripherals. The multi-USB hub has a retractable cord that’s useful.

I clamp my power outlet to the side of my desk using a c-clamp from home depot. This way none of the wires touch the ground.

All cords and cables attached to media center. Nothing really ever comes unplugged. 6 different devices in one space=6 different plugs needed. The power strip is my best friend. I have 6 in my 900sq. foot home.

We have lots of cables for our entertainment setup. We bought a cabinet that has holes in the back intentionally for wires. This works very well and hides all of this junk from the outside view.

Home office, computer desk. MATERIALS - zip ties, coiling of cables around desk. STORY - Although it can't be here, there's a "vein" of cables behind the horizontal desk slat. They're tied on with zip-ties. Zip-ties play a central roll in my cable-management strategy.

Along the side of the couch, we use an 'octopus' extension cord for more power. We like the octopus vs a power strip because you can fit more wall mounted DC converters if you need to.
